Kollaboration

OK, I know I am on a YouTube roll here. But after posting such a dreadful, but hilarious, video of that Korean dude trying to pull off Mariah, I need to counteract that with something like this to restore balance to the universe.

See, Asians can sing despite all those students we see at karaoke booths all over Bangkok.

I stumbled upon David Choi's, the guy on guitar, blog because apparently he is one of the winners from an online Ocarina music contest. How geekily awesome is that?

Kollaboration is a company/organization that's aiming to promote Asians in American entertainment industry, and this video is a preview for one of their upcoming shows.

I really wonder why we don't have Asian pop stars with fame that goes beyond the Pacific Ocean.

Because they haven't heard me yet.

Just kidding. :)

CoCo Lee, the HK-Taiwan songstress, attempted a "Beyonce"-cum-"Dion" breakthrough in the Western pop markets without any follow-through success. Likewise, TaTa Young's popularity (with the exception of Asia) had been "bitch-slapped" down the past few years ...

Both signers are fluent in their native languages including English ... Hmmm, not enough "booty"? lol

After a longer look & hear of the video posted, the kids though full of talent & potential are just plain too R&B (or "black") *without* any transcending Asian-influence (& not just a few pluckings on the Guzheng aka zither). Take note of the long-lasting success of the Latinos ... did they compromise their dance & rhythm?
