In His Honour Pt. 3

This blog post is to illustrate the last.

This is where my great grandfather had been resting for three years before the cremation.

This is old. See how early nineties we look. We have a HUGE family I'm not telling you which one is me though.

Introducing Royal Funeral Chic
Spring/Summer 2007

All-black is the look of the female collection. Swords as accessory is so in right now.

For the male collection, white military jackets complete with medals of achievement is the look to go for this season.

Can you tell the difference? The first one is the Citizen Uniform. Yes we the citizen of Thailand have a special uniform if you're going to be in the presence of a royalty you gotta wear this. The second pic is the Military Uniform and of course the medals and all that are what clues you in on how high up a person is in the military. The third is the Government Official Uniform. I don't see the difference though maybe it's the different badges but whatever.

And here's me with Puu Suvit (granduncle Suvit) the minister of tourism and sports and the right one is of the Thailand's version of Three Musketeers.

OK enough with the fashion...

This is my great grandfather's library. Think of all the knowledge and information hidden among within those stacks of books. See the three identical books on the top right corner? That's the third book I need to get.

The golden thing is the ceremonial coffin I think in the old times they actually put the body in there but now it's just symbolic. The second pic is the hearse military style. They are standing by for the parade.

The ceremony started at the house with soldiers carrying out the coffin and onto the hearse. Then we got on the buses heading to the Wat.

Whenever we passed a military camp or unit, all the soldiers had to come out and salute the coffin. It was so darn cool and there were photographers at almost every corner along the route to the Wat.

Wat Thepsirin. Pretty huh?

Form another parade for the walk around the crematorium.

And now we wait for the Queen and the Princess.

I better not risk my existence in the blogosphere by posting the videos of the Queen and the Princess but I can post these. The awesome Royal Rides and the Royal Poop Vehicle aka Porta Potty for the royalty. By the way, ร. ย. ล. means รถยนต์หลวง on the royal vehicle license plate.

OK the photo/video montage is done. I will definitely try to get a hold of that third book I really want to read what my great grandfather wrote. My dad managed to grab a few more of those goodie bags but turned out the third book wasn't in any of them.. Will blog more seriously next time when I finally get the book.
