OMG WTF XOXO
It's 2am.
I can't believe I have just watched 5 episodes of Gossip Girl in a row.
The second coming of The O.C. I can feel it.

If I had to eat one single dish for the rest of my life it would be the spaghetti bacon at Greyhound Cafe.
It was one of the first dishes I tried when the restaurant first opened and it's been pretty much the only dish I order at Greyhound.
It's not special. It's just spaghetti, stir fried with black olives, crispy and fresh bacon and some garlic and sun dried chillies in olive oil. I don't eat spicy dishes but this is an exception. I'd have tong sia any day for this dish.
Why am I writing about it? As I am savoring my Greyhound takeout of the day, I realized something. I'm gonna cook this mo fo.
I'm not much of a cook. I can't even boil Mama right. My cookies were always too burned and pancakes always turned into mashed potatoes.
But if there's a dish I'm gonna get right it's going to be spaghetti bacon. I already told my mom to buy the ingredients. You don't need the right temperature or the right mixture of water and butter here. Just throw them it, do the little stirring and it should be done.
Right?
Well I know who's going to be the lucky one to taste it.
Guess what kind of computer I'm using to type this post?
Finally the Macbook is mine!
My mom loves it. She's always been a Mac fan and this one just blows her mind.
It's super heavy though. I thought my Vaio was heavy already, this one adds one more kilo. The body also gets easily scratched so I went and bought myself one of those snap-on plastic casing. In pink of course.
First impression: it's pretty, the interface is easier to navigate than I thought. There are a lot of similarities between Mac and Windows. But the differences are beyond WOW.
The Quick View for example. You don't have to open Photoshop, iTunes, Word or Adobe Acrobat to view the files. And god knows I remember how long it took my Pink Vista to open a program. Program installation? No more Yes No Continue Next Cancel. Wanna install? Drag to Applications folder. Uninstall? Drag to Trash Can. Oh my god how did Steve Jobs come up with these so easy yet ignored tasks?
One thing that's going to get a lot of getting used to us the trackpad and the mouse button. The trackpad is a little...unresponsive. Well it is but I always forget that to click the mouse you have to click the button and not tap on the pad. Well there's an option for you to change that but it makes the trackpad too sensitive I ended up moving things I didn't want to move.
One bad thing is the lack of Firefox. Safari is alright, it has tabs and similar functions as Firefox but apparently Leopard doesn't support Thai fonts on Firefox so it shows alien symbols instead of the Thai characters.
Everything else is great. Simple Windows apps like the Office and MSN get specially revamped for Mac making them so much cooler to use. And I really can't get over the cool Dock where you store your most used applications. No more cluttered desktop where you can never find anything.
Now all I need is a brand new carrying bag since all the ones I used with Vaio are way too big.
Yeah, Mac. I'm loving it.
My last post was also the last time I used my luscious pink Vaio as I have just sold the baby off at Pantip!
I can't believe the store would give me that price. It's the exact same offer I get with online shoppers. Went to the first few shops in Fortune Town and the lowest offer I got was B12,000! How ridiculous! With that amount of money I'd be better off keeping the thing.
Speaking of money, today also marked the first time I paid off a traffic cop in my whole driving in Bangkok experience. My mom would be so proud.
We were driving to Pantip from Ratchaprasong and we turned left to go to Pratunam. As we turned, the brown man walked over to the middle of the street asking us to pull over.
Before we turned there were two other taxis turning. We weren't that far behind.
Apparently, according to the brownie, we ran the red light.
"Red light where?," Chou the driver asked, trying his best to scare off the brownie with angry English sentences.
The light was wayyyyyy lodged on the opposite side of the street, totally obstructed by the overhead bridge we were coming under.
"Can I see your driving license?," brownie muttered.
So I gave him the international driving license blaring alien words like Prenom, Nom, etc. it is hard enough as it is for a cop to see ABCs on a driving license. So he started whining,
"You know, I will have to take this away. And you will have to fill out this form and go to the police station to pay B1,000 because you didn't see the sign," Brownie hinted and paused for a while to observe our reaction then continued,
"But if you don't want to go through the trouble, you can pay the fine here for B400 and I'll give it back to you."
I was already on my full-on merchant-mode ready to haggle for the price of my Vaio once I get to Pantip. So I gave it my best,
"B400? I don't have enough (I had about B800 in my wallet), B300 dai mai ka?"
"Here's your license back. Here, I'll help direct the traffic for you so you can get to the left lane easily,"
What a friendly, and cheap, piece of brownie.
Gosh I didn't know my 45k laptop would get its value chopped by half in just 8 months!
F*cking hell. It's still working perfectly and has all its parts. What a cruel geek world?
I've got offers for my Vaio already, some offer quite promising figures but they just won't commit. Those who commit just give me such a low price I can't even begin to consider them as my potential Pinky owner.
I still love it. It's pink after all but it's time to change sides.
There are so many things I'd like to do with Mac that Windows can't. I just bought "Mac OS X Leopard: The Missing Manual" by David Pogue, the famed NYT tech writer, and every line I read about the functions of Leopard just makes me drool.
Did you know you can use you Mac computer as a webserver to store your website? I didn't go into the details just yet but I'm sure it's pretty neat.
I've been using Macs at the office and I know how to navigate myself around already so it shouldn't be all that hard.
It's not surprised also though that all the potential buyers are females aged between 15-20. At least I know at least they would appreciate the pinkness.
Let's wait and see.
